Our story

Two friends, one shared love for photography.

Studio Bona started as an arrangement between two friends who photographed around the clock. Whenever one of them couldn’t make a shoot, she’d call the other: “Hajde, bona, you’ve got this.” (“Bona” is Bosnian slang similar to “girlie”, used casually when addressing a girl or a woman.) After enough of those calls it was obvious they should just work together, so in 2023 they joined forces. The name picked itself.

Today Asja and Amina photograph weddings and couples across Bosnia & Herzegovina and beyond. They notice the small things, wait for the right light, and tell every story as if it were their own.

Asja graduated in product design from the Academy of Fine Arts in Sarajevo and works as a creative strategist. She is used to seeing the whole picture, so at a wedding she follows how the day comes together as a story, from getting ready to the last dance.

Amina graduated in printmaking from the Academy of Fine Arts and holds a master’s in photography. She works in documentary photography, and her work has been exhibited across the region and Europe. At weddings, she looks for the little things nobody planned.

The rest is history.

How we work

  1. 01

    Documentary approach

Best photos happen when you forget we’re there. We follow your day quietly and let it take its own course.

  2. 02

    Light

Light, composition and atmosphere matter to us. Every photo is carefully chosen and edited to take you back to that moment.

  3. 03

    One story

We build your gallery as one continuous story. One you’ll open ten years from now and be right back there: among your people, with laughter and music of that day.
