How far in advance should you book a wedding photographer?
Once you have a date and a venue, the photographer is usually the next big decision. And it is one of the first that can be gone: a photographer can only be in one place on a given day. So how early is early enough?
The short answer
For a wedding between May and September, we recommend booking your photographer 3 to 6 months in advance. For the most popular Saturdays in summer and early autumn, a year or more is not unusual. For weddings outside the main season, 1 to 2 months is often enough, but there is no guarantee.

Why it pays off to book early
- You get the photographer you actually want, not the one who is still free.
- More time to plan together. Timeline, locations for portraits, light at the time of year. The best photos are planned months before the day.
The right order
A good order for most couples: date and venue first, then the photographer, then everything else. If you are still deciding on the date, it is completely fine to ask us about availability for a few options.

What to check before you book
- Look at full galleries, not just the best photos on Instagram.
- Ask what is included: hours, number of photographers, delivery time, online gallery.
